Life: The Only Guide You Need

The process through life is organized, by the life cycle, social roles and the ages.

Past experiences are preparation for the upcoming events. A part stays as you were, but along with the new experiences you change too.

The changes are on every level: biological, social, personal... And as you change, so does everyone around you in the process of socialization.

Life course

“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” — John Lennon

A life course is defined as "a sequence of socially defined events and roles that the individual enacts over time". It’s the connection between individuals and the historical and socioeconomic context in which these individuals lived.

The life course is repeating from one generation to another: we are born, then mature, produce baby and a family of our own, get old and we die.

We can live life thinking we’re in control of what happens and then realize that control is just an illusion. We are longing for new ways of being, of more connection, of greater awareness of the truths in life. This is coming through in business, in family, in social and personal life.

Now is the time that all facets of life are changing fast. Our lives seem more and more chaotic. But the more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. There are four questions of value in life… What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same: Only love. So laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.

Family meaning

What we do in life, echoes in eternity. Leave your legacy.

The memories we make with our family is everything. Family is not an important thing, it's everything. We are all an outcome of love and enthusiasm!

Usually starts with a marriage, having kids, teaching and schooling your kid, watching it creating family of its own, and eventually coming to the end of life to one of the partners.

But these days’ things are a bit changed. People have kids without being married, or get divorce and have kids with other partners.

Parenting has a huge impact in the socialization. Especially by the various types styles of parenting, discipline, punishments and behavior norms in different generations.

A sister or brother is a friend and defender – a listener, conspirator, a counselor and a sharer of delights. And sorrows too. Sisters and brothers are for sharing laughter and wiping tears.

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them. They are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.

But there is no right or wrong. Because children are likely to live up to what you believe of them. So be their support.

Life happens, things don’t always go according to plan and it’s important to have faith that everything will work out in the end.

Social roles

The part people play as members of a social group. With each social role you adopt, your behavior changes to fit the expectations both you and others have of that role.

How many roles do you play every day? Are you a mother, a father, a partner, a child, sister or brother? And don’t forget the role on your work. Also the only way of having friends is to be a friend.

Every moment of every day you play a role to blend in the society and you have an impact in the life of everyone around you. So Imagine for yourself a character, a model personality, whose example you determine to follow, in private as well as in public.

Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing. Until you're ready to look foolish, you'll never have the possibility of being great.

Every day is a bank account, and time is our currency. No one is rich, no one is poor, we've got 24 hours each.

Types of aging

There are different criteria that qualify ages.

  • Chronological: from the day of you birth, the actual amount of time that you are alive. The number of years, months, days and hours.
  • Biological: your physical status. The way how does your body feel.
  • Psychological: your personal assessment, how mature you feel.
  • Functional: it’s related to your job and social responsibility, fulfilling the expectations from your social roles.
  • Social: that is determinate by the generation with whom you have social interactions and you measure out your successes.

But if you want to grow it’s never too late just find a good opportunity. Don’t go through life, grow through life. May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears. You dwell in possibility.

Youth is like a long weekend on Friday night. Middle age is like a long weekend on Monday afternoon.
